Personal Review- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, directed by Peter Jackson, was without a doubt one of the most successful movies to grace the public at the end of 2012. An Unexpected Journey is the first among three movies that will make up The Hobbit because of the incredible amount of content that these movies will contain. After his direction of the three Lord of the Rings movies several years ago, Peter Jackson had to step it up in this new trilogy of movies that take place in J.R.R. Tolkien's middle earth universe. Fans who are loyal to Tolkien's works of literature are far from disappointed in this experience because much of the same elements are present throughout both, unlike some movies in which the movie does not accurately portray the work of literature which is being illustrated. Although the movie adopts some new concepts and abandons some old ones in order to give it some independence in terms of originality, most of the concepts from the movie are borrowed from the works of literature which is fortunate for most fans. For these reasons and many more The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey gets a 9.5 out of 10 and is a must see for anyone who is even slightly interested in action and suspense, as well as occasional comedy, and is without a doubt one of the greatest movies to ever be seen as an interpretation of an original work of literature.

Thor 2: The Dark World

IGN.com gave the new Marvel movie Thor 2: the Dark World a 6.8 out of 10, which I disagree with completely because of a variety of different reasons. In my opinion, this movie is without a doubt worthy of at least an 8.5 or 9 out of 10. The acting performance of the cast members, primarily Tom Heddleston, who portrays Loki in the movie is fantastic, and is unmatched in talent throughout all of the marvel movies so far in my opinion. Thor 2: the Dark World was directed in part by the same individual who directed the show Game of Thrones, which is an epic, medieval, action success, and his experience in directing action is displayed in this movie because of how suspenseful the action is, which keeps the audience on their feet and at attention one hundred percent of the experience. This sequel is way more successful than that of the first movie, which was released in 2011, in every conceivable way according to many credible sources. I am looking forward to seeing what Marvel Comics has in store for its fans in the future, based on how successful their movies have been recently and will only improve further down the line. I am very much impressed with the direction these movies are going. I recommend this movie to everyone and I consider it a must see movie for action lovers as well as thrill riders.
